Welcome to the thriving Junior School section of Ghana International School.

The Junior School caters to children aged between 7 and 11 years and currently comprises Years 3 to 6 with four classes in each year group. This division corresponds to Key Stage 2 of the English National Curriculum.
Each year group is managed by a Year Coordinator. A Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) - who, without class responsibility - oversees provision for pupils who need extra help. The section also has an English as a Second Language (ESL) class.
Pupils are taught English, Mathematics, Social Studies and 'Values and Ethics' by a class teacher and all other subject specialists. These are Science, MFL (French), IT, PE, Art and Music. All classes are equipped with an interactive white board and IT is an integral part of pupil learning.
The Junior School has a vibrant co-curricular programme with a myriad of clubs to choose from. Many performances will stem from work done in the club setting and the section prides itself on the outstanding quality of dance, drama and public speaking.
The section also boasts an active community service programme and Junior School Student Council.
Drop us a line or come and see us in person. The Vice Principal, teachers, pupils and staff are always ready to receive you.
Best wishes,

Mrs Mary Ocansey
